An Ode to Keith Haring
Last November I stumbled across some amazing fabric by Keith Haring but I've been hesitant to make anything with it because its so rare to find and I knew if I made a mistake their would be no turning back. So weeks went by where I will pull out the fabric from my fabric closet stare at it for hours then just throw it back. Then finally after months of intimidation I found the courage to make the first cut into to fabric and I'm soo happy with the results.
During the months of my "fabric battle" I was also debating on what to make with the Haring fabric. I opted for the jacket and shorts for one main reason, its simplicity. The print is very busy to the eyes so a simple style was needed. Also, the belted jacket was a great way to show of the print. I felt like anything else would distort the art work a little.
